The Montville History Group has continued to research local family history following requests from descendants.

These families include the Gowlett Family at the end of Negus Road in the 50s, the Pacey Family from Baroon Pocket and the Butt Family of Western Avenue.

New articles on the web include ‘Pineapples and Pigeon Stew’ – a delightful reminiscence by a grand-daughter of Monty and Ethel Smith who lived at the beginning of Western Avenue from the turn of the 20th century and whose house still stands at the end of a long driveway that once found visitors in the midst of vast pineapple fields. Another new web story is Annie Clark – A legacy of Strength and Courage – again a grand-daughter pays tribute to a Hunchy pioneering family.

The Group continues to research places of interest in Montville and District and their latest article is about The Rangers – a gated community in Western Avenue.
