We have had an extremely busy term here at Montville State School. We have had many visitors to the school as well as excursions to the Maleny Show and to other schools.

Last week, 31 students attended the Small Schools Athletics Carnival at Conondale. They all gave their best effort and had fun whilst demonstrating our school values of Care for Self, Care for Others and Care for the Environment.

On Friday 24 May we recognised P&C Appreciation Day. All members of the P&C were presented with a certificate and $5 voucher to spend at Little May’s. Our P&C have done an outstanding job improving our school. We now have air-conditioning in all of the classrooms and learning areas and, due to their fundraising efforts, over $8,000 has been donated to the school to develop a STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) learning area.

We also recently celebrated Under 8’s Day. Miss Baker and her helpers organised a fantastic morning for all of our Under 8’s in the Montville community. Thank you to Miss Baker and staff, Year 6 students, Montville Playgroup, P&C and community members that gave their time to make the day a success.

On Friday 31 May we held the first of three Open Mornings for anyone new to our community and interested in enrolling their child in our school to come and have a look through the classrooms and meet the staff. If you are considering enrolling your child at Montville please come along. We will be holding two more Open Mornings this year on 6 September and 18 October.

Here is some of the Montville students’ artwork that was entered in the Maleny Agricultural Show.
