Pineapples, tennis balls and money have one thing in common: they don’t grow on trees!

But the community and friends of Montville have shown their generosity of spirit through donations and membership applications since the club was incorporated on 7 September 2018. In addition to our enthusiastic Foundation and new club members, we would like to make special mention of our generous donors and life members including:

Marion and Antony Cooper

Merlin and Geoff Coughlin

Melva and Ian Maynard

Grant Mayfield

Rosemary Hannah and Lynette Preston

With $35,000 raised towards the refurbishment of the tennis courts at the Montville Sports and Recreation Ground the club is progressing well towards having two new synthetic surfaced courts in 2019.  Grant opportunities are being progressed through several applications. The Montville Village Association and Chamber of Commerce have proved to be great allies with the club Secretary addressing these two bodies which has helped generate interest and support for the club’s plans.

Paralympian gold medallist Chris Bond OAM from the Australian Sports Foundation recently inspected the old courts and met with the club President and Secretary to help the club with its fundraising plans. If you would like to be a part of this amazing community story you can make a tax deductible donation that will go to the club’s rejuvenation project through the Australian Sports Foundation at this link

The Montville Tennis Club has also partnered with not-for-profit raffle Play For Purpose, giving Australians the chance to support a cause that’s important to them, while sharing in $500,000 worth of prizes. With a one in 34 chance of winning $500,000 worth of prizes, and a minimum of 50% of every ticket sold going directly to the Montville Tennis Club, Play For Purpose is the ultimate win-win raffle. The Montville Tennis Club will benefit by more than $5000 from the Round 2 Raffle drawn at the end of February.  It’s never been so much fun to make a difference so grab a Play For Purpose ticket for Round 3 at and support the tennis club.

Tennis Queensland have been to visit the courts and the resultant partnering has provided access to an extensive range of resources and support including the new website The website is a work in progress with eventual plans for online booking and other interactive features.

The club’s rejuvenation plans were also warmly welcomed by Councillor Jenny McKay who was briefed by the club President about the court and clubhouse rejuvenation project following the signing of a seven year access agreement between the club and the village association in January 2019.

Plans are underway for a special fundraising event at the Montville Village Hall involving great music and entertainment, an indigenous art auction, drinks and nibbles, and much more…….keep an eye out for details on the website and notice boards.

Lastly, thankyou to our Montville Tennis Club Management Committee for their time and effort.
