Very recently a group of artists from the Blackall Range Visual Artists painted this delightful scene on the water tank at RangeCare, Flaxton.
It’s a gorgeous scene that does actually include representations of houses on the Range. On the RangeCare website there is also a time lapse video of the artists painting the tank and it can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/blackallrangecare/videos/283507052428027/
Last year, the same artists painted the water tank behind the Mapleton Gym.
They have turned these very utilitarian pieces into works of art.
These talented women and men have a website at which you will find their individual pages with photos of their artwork. Please do take a look.

They have an exhibition coming up – starting on 28 September and closing on 7 October – at St Mary’s Hall, Montville. The exhibition will be open from 9.30am-4.00pm each day. Artists have drawn or painted the homes, gardens or animals or family of the members of Zonta here on the Range. The paintings will be judged and the President of Zonta will be guest speaker on the opening night. Zonta’s organisation’s motto is ‘Empowering Woman Through Service and Advocacy’ and the Zonta Club of Blackall Range website can be found here https://zontadistrict22.org/district-22-clubs/zonta-club-of-blackall-range-inc/
Please support the artists – they are a great asset to our community.
Here’s a painting by Toni Black of a Zonta member’s pet.
